Sleepy Cinnamon Oat Milk

I’ve always struggled with sleep. My mind somehow comes to life as soon as my head hits the pillow and I often can’t find sleep till the wee hours of the morning. On nights like those, I like to make myself a cup of soothing milk, light a candle and take some DeStress from Rae Wellness to help me out. It may not knock me out right away, but it keeps the sleep anxiety at bay and calms my mind. You can use whatever milk you’d like for this recipe, but I love oat milk because it tastes like the most comforting bowl of childhood oatmeal.

Ingredients

1 ½ cups oat milk
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ashwagandha powder
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Sweetener to taste (honey, maple syrup, etc.)

In a medium sized saucepan, warm up milk over medium heat. Add the spices and vanilla extract, then mix into the milk using a hand held whisk or a frother. Once milk has warmed to your liking, add the desired amount of sweetener, stir well and remove from heat. Transfer to your favorite mug and drink right away.
